Your skin is your body’s largest organ, so treat it right! Photo-aging (skin damage such as wrinkles, brown spots and lax skin caused by sun exposure), can be prevented and minimized with proper sun protection, such as sunscreen, protective clothing and various anti-aging treatments. A tan, whether you get it on the beach, pool, or in a bed is bad news! Tans are caused by harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays. Many tanning places say their beds are protected from UVA rays which age you, but UVB rays are what cause skin cancer. Here are some of my tips to reverse sun damage:  Use a sunscreen of 15-30 SPF on a daily basis, exfoliate, get Photo Facial (IPL) treatments and hydrate. Avoid tanning beds – spray tan instead!!! Let’s be honest, every girl loves a good deal.  We would be lying if we said that we didn’t live for the sale rack at our favorite stores.  Sometimes, though, it’s hard to keep our eyes from straying over to the new arrivals.  (Especially now that spring clothing is popping up everywhere!)  That’s why we are here to fill you in on a few of our Super Savings Secrets for some of our favorite stores.

J. Crew – - Always a good bet if you’re looking for those classic pieces, J. Crew offers 15% off your entire purchase (minus sale items) for college students and teachers.  All you have to do is show your student or employee ID.   If you are planning on making a major dent during your next visit to J. Crew we recommend opening a J. Crew card because the first time you open it you receive 20% off your entire purchase.  For every $500 you spend after that, you will receive a $25 rewards card.

Banana Republic – - Banana offers a variety of savings that are not publicized so listen up ladies!  If you are a member of AAA you can receive 10% off your final purchase by showing your AAA membership card (this goes for GAP and Old Navy too).  They offer a 10% military discount the first of every month, and a 10% discount for teachers with valid employee ID.  Now you won’t feel so bad about buying those new linen pants you’ve been eyeing in the window!

Retail Websites – - Even those of us who love our designer labels crave a deal every now and then.  Our solution? Discount websites such as Rue La La, Gilt Groupe, HauteLook and Ideeli.  These websites are member exclusive sites that offer discounts on every designer label imaginable.  To become a member, sign up and wait to be “invited” by the website.  Once you are invited you will receive daily emails highlighting sought after merchandise from designers such as Michael Kors, Kate Spade, and Citizens of Humanity.  The window for the sale is timed, though, as there is a limited quantity of merchandise available.  It’s all about timing, so be sure to scope out the sales before they go live so you can get your hands on what you want before they sell out!  The e-mails are usually sent out around noon each day.
