Product Review: Omorovicza Gold Shimmer Oil
I received this little treat in the mail and could not wait to try it… so obviously I tried it immediately (anyone else like that?). Admittedly a sucker for shimmery things, I promptly fell in love with the beautiful glass bottle and the perfectly illuminating contents within. One small drop on my arm, and I was hooked. With ingredients like apricot kernel oil, calendula oil, vitamin E, and carrot oil, my skin felt ridiculously soft right away and stayed that way. And for those of you who dislike that greasy feeling after applying lotions, oils, etc…this is right up your alley because this stuff absorbs so fast without leaving any kind of residue. And can we talk about how gorgeous your skin will look with the real gold particles working their magic? Side note – gold possesses some pretty amazing health benefits; it’s an anti-inflammatory and repairs micro-damage on the skin resulting in improved texture…who knew? And worry not about looking like a pre-teen covered in glitter; this oil leaves a very subtle, and very sexy, gold sheen on your skin – just right for making you look completely radiant for all of your holiday parties. I should mention the smell too (you would think I had gone temporarily insane if I didn’t comment on that, right?) – this product smells.so.good. Slightly perfume-esque, you will smell like you spent the day at a very expensive spa.
I cannot wait to use this for a special occasion, but if I’m being honest…when faced with the daily decision of normal skin versus amazing skin – I’ll probably be going with amazing skin and using this stuff on the regular.
Get your very own gold shimmer oil here and glow like crazy this holiday season. $80.
xoxo.

Fashionista Fridays: Metallic Polish
The holidays are approaching so I decided to try out a festive and fun way to spice up your nails. I tried two metallic nail polishes this week and loved loved loved them both.
Usually when I think of wintery polishes, I picture darker hues: dark browns and purples and red of course. But these metallic polishes opened my eyes to some new icy inspiration. They are just as dramatic as the dark winter colors we’re used to, but they are so much more fun.
The first color I tried was called “Silver Mercedes.” As the name implies, it felt and looked luxurious. The color was very pure and very metallic silver. I literally could not stop looking at my nails after I put it on because it was so shiny. The color could almost be a piece of jewelry for your nails. I think this color would be the perfect accompaniment to any sassy New Year’s outfit. And since it is silver, it can go with anything!
The second color I tested was called “Pedal to the Metal.” This one really got me thinking about the holidays. The tint of purple in the silver gave it an icy wintry feeling. My roommate accurately defined it as sugarplum in a polish because of the soft shimmery look it has.
Both these colors would pair great with your holiday outfits and they would also be great gifts for the fashionistas you know.

Sugar, Sugar.
With the holidays just around the corner, cookies, cakes and candies become household staples during the season of packing on the pounds. Well, we’ve found a way to get your sugar fix and awaken your sweet senses, all without consuming the calories and keeping your skin nothing less than gorgeous. Check out these four sugar scrubs that will keep your skin soft and subtle throughout the harsh winter months.
Fresh Brown Sugar Body Polish – $38.00 for 7 oz.
In 1999, this award-winning sugar scrub was the first to hit the market. This extreme body exfoliate leaves your skin feeling soft and silky….you can even skip the body lotion! 100% worth the price for the results! In Indy, find this original sugar polish, along with other Fresh products at Sephora, Philipe’s Spa or Saks Fifth Avenue.
Alba Sugar Cane Body Polish – $10.95 for 10 oz.
This sugar scrub is definitely a close contender to the Fresh version (above). For a third of the cost, experience near same benefits. Nutrient-rich honey and tropical nut oils nourish leave skin soft and smooth. This extrapolate is gentle enough for all skin types. Locally, find it at Target stores or at Whole foods.

Burt’s Bees Cranberry and Pomegranate Sugar Scrub - $13.00 for 8 oz.
Talk about sweet! In addition to cranberry seeds, this scrub has a secret antioxidant-rich ingredient: pomegranate oil. Combined with natural sugar crystals and shea butter, use this polish and to get smooth and glowing skin. You can find it at many drugstores, Target, and Whole Foods stores – or any store that carries Burt’s Bees products.
Apply all sugar scrubs to wet skin and rub in a circular motion, then rinse thoroughly.
Or, feeling creative? Make your own! Check out this gift-worthy recipe, Sweet N’ Spicy Brown Sugar Scrub, from Domino Sugar. I may just have to make this for all the gals in my family.
Sweet N’ Spicy Brown Sugar Scrub
1 cup – Domino® Dark or Light Brown Sugar
1 cup – Domino® Granulated Sugar
¾ cup – almond oil
2 tsp. – ground cinnamon
2 tsp. – ground ginger
2 tsp. – ground nutmeg
1 16 oz. – glass container with lid
Cinnamon sticks, optional
Diections: In a medium-sized bowl, combine all ingredients until thoroughly blended. Be sure to break up any lumps from the brown sugar or from the spices. Spoon into the glass container and secure with lid. Scoop a teaspoon or two of the scrub on your hands and gently massage in circular motions onto your skin. Leave on for 3 to 4 minutes before thoroughly rinsing. The scrub will tighten on your skin.

Fashionista Friday: A Take on Denim and Camel
All the way back in August, I was drawn to a picture in that month’s issue of Harper’s Bazaar. It was a model wearing camel trousers and a denim button up. I knew right from that moment I wanted to try this interesting trend, especially since camel was all over the fall fashion magazines.
The first part of the look I found was the shirt. I purchased a denim-inspired button up from New York and Company that was darker and looked less like a pair of jeans. I figured this shirt would be more versatile because it was a little dressier than the one featured in the magazine. On a side note, New York and Company (in my opinion) has the best button up shirts. They have an amazing fit and come in so many different colors!
Anyways, a problem I ran into was finding the pants. I’ve been searching since August for a nice tailored pair of camel trousers, yet haven’t found a good fit. I’ve tried on numerous wide-legged options and ended up looking like I was playing dress up in mommy’s closet (seeing as I am 5’1” and do not have the stature to pull off wide-legged pants.)
So since I had the shirt I decided to do a more wearable or in my case “findable” take on the look. I took a pair of khaki pants that have been in my closet for many years now and decided to pair them with my new shirt. I was pleased with the results. The outfit was put together and made me feel fashionable.
While the outfit didn’t quite look like it came from the pages of Harper’s Bazaar, I was pleased that I could find something that I already owned and update it a little with a new and trendy shirt. However, I’m still on the search for the perfect pair of camel pants.
